b. Which is in the middle?

Answer to Question 2

When the slide is moved to the left on the microscope stage, the object as viewed
through the ocular will appear to move to the right. Similarly, when the slide is
moved up on the microscope stage, the object will appear to move down in the
field of view through the ocular.
