Methods of controlling weeds in the vegetable garden include applying shallow
cultivation (for short weeds), mulching with organic materials (straw, leaves, sawdust,
wood chips) or with black polyethylene plastic, and using herbicides

In order to determine the amount of fertilizer required for 1 acre, divide the amount of
nitrogen required per acre (50 lbs.) by the percent of nitrogen in the fertilizer (10 or
0.10):
