Answer to Question 1

Answers may vary regarding the biggest advantage of using row covers for vegetable
plants. Some advantages include that they protect plants from frost, are lightweight and
allow plants to grow while they remain in place, and they keep insects off of plants.
Research has also shown that they may increase yields and delay bolting in some plants.

Answer to Question 2

The five steps in transplanting seedlings to the garden are:1.
Water the plants to be transplanted the evening before or at least several hours
before transplanting.
2. If plants are grown in peat pots, peel off the top half of the pot and break off the
bottom, unless the roots are already growing through the pot.
3. If plants are grown in flats, cut the soil between the plants and lift them out with a
putty knife or other small tool. Leave as much soil around the roots as possible.
Handle carefully.
4. Check the distance apart at which the plants are to be placed and set them
immediately in the garden soil. Place the plants a little deeper in the garden soil than
they grew in the original container. Plant tall, spindly plants, especially tomatoes,
deeper.
5. Pull soil toward the plant and firm slightly. Fill the hole only two-thirds full. Stop and
water enough to settle the soil around the roots. Pull in enough dry soil to level the
hole and cover the wet area.

Chronic necrotizing aspergillosis has a slowly progressive process that, unlike invasive aspergillosis, does not spread to other organ systems or the blood vessels. It most often affects middle-aged and elderly individuals, spreading to surrounding tissue in the lungs. The disease often does not respond to conventionally successful treatments, and requires individualized therapies in order to keep it from becoming life-threatening.
