Answer to Question 1

The four most important items to consider when selecting a garden site:1.
Location's proximity to a water source
2. An abundance of healthy, loamy, well-drained soil
3. Plenty of sunshine
4. Pitch of the land (not steep)

Answer to Question 2

To see if soil is too wet to plow, squeeze a handful of the soil. If it sticks together in a
tight ball and does not easily crumble under slight pressure by the thumb and finger, it is
too wet for plowing or other working. When checking for wetness, check at the lower
plow depth, because soil may be dry on top and too wet on the bottom
