The objectives of residential landscaping are to:
 Determine the exact landscape needs and desires of the homeowners.
 Determine the capabilities of the land (site) to fulfill those needs and desires.
 Develop the outdoor living areas of the landscape in a manner similar to the way
indoor living areas are developed.
 Design the landscape in such a way that maintenance practices do not exceed that which the homeowner is willing to do.
 Keep costs within the budget of the homeowner.



Answer to Question 2

Three major career fields in the landscape profession are landscape architecture,
Landscape contracting, and landscape maintenance contracting. The fastest-growing
profession in the landscape industry today is landscape maintenance contracting.
