Answer to Question 1

Animal rights activists believe that killing an animal is just as wrong as killing a human
being. They contend that animals have as much right to enjoy life and to be free as
humans do.

Answer to Question 2

Research scientists have a more difficult time justifying the use of animals to test
cosmetic products. This is because activists insist that the suffering of animals should
not be allowed to produce new products that are only used to make people appear more
attractive.
