Answer to Question 1

Companion animals are beneficial to the elderly because they provide them with a sense
of being valued and needed. They give them companionship when they might otherwise
be alone.

Answer to Question 2

Companion animals are beneficial to human health. Petting a companion animal or
watching an aquarium can lower blood pressure and heart rates. Hyperactive children
are calmer when in the presence of a companion animal. A sick person is likely to
recover faster.
