Answer to Question 1

Mechanical aerators can be used to put oxygen back into water. These devices sling
water into the air where oxygen becomes mixed with the water.



Answer to Question 2

Loss of oxygen occurs most often during hot, dark nights when plants in the water are
not giving off oxygen.
