Almost all broilers produced are white. Birds that are dark in color have spots of color or
pigmentation left where the feathers were removed after slaughter. Consumers are
reluctant to buy chicken with spots on the skin.



Answer to Question 2

Breeder birds are selected based on growth, feeding efficiency, and heavy muscling.
