Colostrum is good for newborn calves because it helps the young animal ward off
disease during the first few days of life. Also, colostrum contains substances that help to
open the calf's digestive system.



Answer to Question 2

Artificial breeding offers several advantages. By using artificial insemination, producers
do not have the expense of keeping a bull, sexually transmitted diseases are eliminated,
and semen can be selected from a wide variety of superior bulls at a relatively low price.
