Answer to Question 1

Forests provide habitat for animals. Different types of forests support different types of
wildlife. Animals and birds prefer particular types of foliage for food or to make their
nest in. Without this habitat, certain species would become extinct in a short while.

Answer to Question 2

A canopy is created when the limbs of faster growing trees unite over other trees.
