Spray the pesticide until it drips off the leaves.

Answer to Question 2

Make sure that the growing conditions are good and the plant is not under stress. This includes well drained potting medium, adequate light, correct temperature for the species, adequate humidity, and not allowing the plant to stand in drainage water after watering.
