What are the advantages and disadvantages to a grower for changing from a small inside diameter to a large inside diameter in the pot watering micro tubes of an automatic system?

Shade screens are often installed in greenhouses. Most of these usually perform a second role in addition to reducing light intensity during bright days. What other role could be performed?

Answer to Question 1

Advantages include faster flow rate and watering time which is good for
large pots and less chance of plugging. The disadvantage is that you cannot water
as many pots at one time.

Answer to Question 2

A heat screen to hold heat in the greenhouse on cold nights.
