Answer to Question 1

process by which plants convert energy from the sun, carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and water and minerals from the soil into food they can use for maintenance and growth

Answer to Question 2

Generally perennial grass plants are most vulnerable in the seed development period. This period is critical because the plants demand for photosynthetic products is high and opportunity for regrowth is low, due to the approach of less favorable temperature and moisture conditions.
