Answer to Question 1

4. Reactivated as if the traumatic event were reoccurring.

Rationale:
Memory traces are formed when there are high levels of adrenaline and other stress hormones circulating. Each time the traumatic experience is recalled, memory traces are reactivated and intensified as if the traumatic event were reoccurring. It is recalled when the amygdala releases more stress hormones. It may be reactivated when there are increased levels of adrenaline. High levels of corticotrophin-releasing factor increase the startle response.

Answer to Question 2

B
An ileal conduit is a surgical procedure to aid with urine removal. It will produce a steady output of urinary drainage. This procedure isolates the ileum from the fecal stream so there will not be any output of feces. A continent urinary diversion contains a pouch for urinary storage, which will cause an intermittent stream of urinary drainage.
