Answer to Question 1

A
Patient behavior accidents occur when the patient's behavior or actions precipitate the accident, such as by smoking in the bathroom. Therapeutic procedure accidents occur during the delivery of medical or nursing interventions, such as medication errors and patient falls. Equipment accidents result from the malfunction or improper use of medical equipment, such as electrocution and fire.

Answer to Question 2

A
Automobile accidents and substance abuse are sources of injury for the adolescent. Unsafe workplaces are sources of injury for the adult. Falling is a source of injury for the older adult because of being prone to falling in the bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen due to the loss of agility and visual acuity along with dizziness and syncope related to medication side effects.
