The normal fasting blood glucose level is 60 to 99 mg/dl. A fasting glucose of 100 to 125 mg/dl is considered impaired. A fasting glucose level of > 126 mg/dl is considered overt diabetes. A fasting blood glucose level below 60 mg/dl is considered hypoglycemia.
