Answer to Question 1

A
Uncomplicated grief is a grief reaction that normally follows a significant loss. It runs a predictable course that ends with the resumption of normal life. Anticipatory grief is the occurrence of grief work before an expected loss. This type of grief may lead to family members' distancing themselves and not being able to provide support. Dysfunctional grief is when the person experiencing the grief does not progress through the stages or fails to demonstrate the behaviors commonly associated with grief. Disenfranchised grief contributes to dysfunctional grief. It is grief experienced in situations where grief is discouraged and social supports are absent, such as in the death of partners of gays and lesbians.

Answer to Question 2

C
In our youth-driven society, old age often has a negative connotation. In many cultures, older people are accorded a position of respect and young people feel a moral and familial responsibility to care for parents and older relatives. In American culture, misconceptions about older adults abound. Older adults are often stereotyped as being ill, bald, hard of hearing, forgetful, rigid, grumpy, or boring simply on the basis of their age and regardless of their competencies and individual characteristics.

Every flu season is different, and even healthy people can get extremely sick from the flu, as well as spread it to others. The flu season can begin as early as October and last as late as May. Every person over six months of age should get an annual flu vaccine. The vaccine cannot cause you to get influenza, but in some seasons, may not be completely able to prevent you from acquiring influenza due to changes in causative viruses. The viruses in the flu shot are killed—there is no way they can give you the flu. Minor side effects include soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given. It is possible to develop a slight fever, and body aches, but these are simply signs that the body is responding to the vaccine and making itself ready to fight off the influenza virus should you come in contact with it.
