When performing tracheal suctioning, the nurse should apply suction for:
 
  1. not more than 10 seconds.
  2. 20 to 30 seconds.
  3. not more than 30 seconds.
  4. 30 to 60 seconds.

An adult in a restaurant appears to be choking and is grabbing at her throat. What should be done first to help this individual?
 
  1. Ask the victim, Are you choking?
  2. Wrap arms around the victim's waist.
