Answer to Question 1

A
Postdural puncture headache, caused by the loss of cerebrospinal fluid around the brain, is a significant complication of either spinal or epidural anesthesia. Because of the vascular dilation they produce, widespread spinal or epidural blocks can cause lowered blood pressure, especially with position changes (orthostatic hypotension).

Answer to Question 2

B
The Newborns' and Mothers' Health Protection Act of 1995 mandates that all health care plans require a minimal postpartum hospital stay of 48 hours for a vaginal birth and 96 hours for a cesarean birth.
