Changing a central venous dressing using regular aseptic dressing changes helps decrease the possibility of infections at the insertion site and systemically. Steps include washing hands, applying clean gloves, putting on a mask, removing old dressing and discarding gloves, applying sterile gloves, cleaning site according to facility policy, applying transparent dressing, and labeling with time and date.
