Answer to Question 1

D
Disseminated intravascular coagulation is an overstimulation of the normal clotting process. Obstetric conditions that can precipitate DIC include abruptio placenta, placenta previa, hydatidiform mole, pregnancy-induced hypertension, retained products of conception, amniotic fluid embolism, and infections. Many medical-surgical conditions, such as neoplasms, blood transfusion reactions, trauma, and infections can also cause DIC. The client may have dyspnea or chest pain, become restless and cyanotic, and have frothy, blood-tinged mucus. Immediate delivery of the fetus is indicated.

Answer to Question 2

D
Many women with gonorrheal infections are symptomatic, but the remainder may have pain or burning on urination, a yellow or bloody vaginal discharge, or both.
