A
Feedback:
For all people older than 1 year, the rescuer gives a series of five quick abdominal upward thrusts slightly above the navel to increase intrathoracic pressure. The rescuer opens the client's airway with the head tilt or chin lift maneuver and continues administering upward thrusts if initial efforts are not successful. Only if the client becomes unconscious should nurses assist clients to the floor, activate the emergency response system, and begin performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
