When feeding a client with Alzheimer's disease, the nurse should guide the hand with the food to the client's mouth. The nurse should use the analogy of a clock to describe the location of food when feeding a visually impaired client. The nurse should ensure that there are no distractions such as television when feeding the client with Alzheimer's disease; this will enable the client to concentrate on having the meal. Alternative textures are required when a client has dysphagia.
