Answer to Question 1

D
Feedback:
The nurse understands that buccal application involves placing the drugs against the mucous membrane of the inner cheek. Sublingual application is placing the drug below the tongue so that it dissolves slowly. Inunction is medication incorporated into an agent that is administered by rubbing it into the skin. Patches are drugs bonded to an adhesive applied to the skin.

Answer to Question 2

A
Feedback:
In order to prevent the client from inhaling large droplets of medication, the nurse should instruct the client to breathe through her mouth. To provide support and aid positioning, the nurse could place a rolled towel or a pillow behind the neck if the client cannot sit. Placing the tip of the container just inside the nostril confines the spray within the nasal passage. In order to facilitate depositing the drug where its effect is desired, the nurse should help the client to a sitting or lying position with her head tilted backward or to the side if the drug needs to reach one or the other sinus.
