Intuition is an inner sensing or gut feeling that something is so. The nursing process is a five-step approach that incorporates diagnostic reasoning and clinical decision making.

People who are sleep deprived do not have the normal restorative periods associated with sleep and can become irritable or confused and have difficulty concentrating. A nurse can assist the client who is sleep deprived to minimize or seek treatment for factors contributing to the condition (e.g., substance abuse).
