Answer to Question 1

C
Violence against women is a global epidemic affecting 35 of women worldwide.

Answer to Question 2

B
Confidentiality is vital in all areas, but in rural areas, this poses some special problems. First, patients and health care providers may know each other well and have many friends and acquaintances in common, and patients need to feel secure in their ability to trust the nurse with sensitive information. Second, in rural areas, people are often recognized by their cars, so parking outside the clinic on sexually transmitted infection testing day or in front of a mental health clinic might make the patient feel stigmatized. The rural nurse needs to make accommodations for these considerations.
Beneficence, or doing good, is an important ethical standard, but it is probably not the most important one for rural residents.
Justice is an important ethical standard but probably not the most important one for rural residents.
Veracity, or telling the truth, is an important ethical standard but probably not the most important one for rural residents.
