An older adult client in the long-term care facility is incontinent of urine during the day and night. What message would be best for the nurse to convey to the client, the client's family, and the nursing assistants caring for this client?
 
  1. Clients who are incontinent at night need to be n.p.o. in the evening.
  2. An indwelling catheter can be a long-term answer to this problem.
