Answer to Question 1

B

Feedback
A Assuming the role of a clinical expert is not a student nurse role.
B Student nurses with a baccalaureate degree are prepared to participate in investigations of patient outcomes and nursing care, commonly called quality assurance or improvement studies.
C Developing methods of inquiry relevant to nursing is not a student nurse role.
D Acquiring funding for research projects is not a student nurse role.

Answer to Question 2

B
After an intravenous pyelogram (IVP), the nurse should encourage fluid intake to dilute and flush dye from the client and observe the client for late symptoms of allergy (rash, throat tight-ness, difficulty breathing).
No increased risk of infection of the urinary bladder occurs from an IVP. This would be more likely with an invasive procedure, such as an endoscopy (cystoscopy).
An IVP should not injure tissues of the kidney.
An IVP does not cause paralysis of the urinary sphincter.
