Answer to Question 1

C

Feedback
A To assist the patients in their situational change, the nurse must explore communication and sexual patterns of the couple. Having similar parenting beliefs will have less impact on their sexual relationship.
B To assist the patients in adjusting to the change of becoming a family, the nurse should explore their communication patterns. How long they have been married would be less significant.
C In response to identified concerns, the nurse may initiate discussion. Effective communication about sexuality requires caring, sensitivity, tact, compassion, the use of appropriate language, and a nondiscriminatory attitude. It is important not to have preconceived notions about the patients' sexual identity or activity.
D The level of knowledge the patients have regarding healthy sexual relationships would not affect their sexual relationship as much as their ability to discuss their feelings with one another.

Answer to Question 2

A
Antihypertensives may cause an alteration in the sense of taste.
Anti-inflammatories cause increased appetite and weight gain.
Decreased drug absorption may occur when diuretics, such as furosemide, are administered with food. Furosemide does not affect the client's sense of taste.
Analgesics may cause decreased drug absorption with food.
