Knowing the client then facilitates choice of therapies that promote client decision making and autonomy. Planning regular visits also helps the client maintain a sense of self-worth, because it demonstrates that he or she is worthy of the nurse's time and attention.
The client should not be left alone to feel abandoned or isolated.
The nurses can help the client meet spiritual needs by facilitating connections to a spiritual prac-tice or community and supporting the expression of culturally held beliefs.
