Answer to Question 1

C
The purpose of sleep is still unclear. One theory suggests that sleep is a time of restoration and preparation for the next period of wakefulness. The benefits of sleep often go unnoticed until a person develops a problem resulting from sleep deprivation. Sleep deprivation impacts immune functioning, metabolism, nitrogen balance, protein catabolism, and quality of life.

Answer to Question 2

A
When you view the family as context, your primary focus is on the health and development of an individual member existing within a specific environment (i.e., the patient). Although you focus the nursing process on the individual's health status, you will also assess the extent to which the family provides the individual's basic needs.
