Answer to Question 2

A, D
Motor vehicle accidents are a leading cause of accidental death in American adults and children older than 1 year of age. The risk of being injured or killed in a car crash increases for older drivers. Failure to use seat belts and proper child car seats continues to be the major contributing factors. Severe injuries and death also occur from air bag deployment when young children are improperly placed in the front passenger seat. Children should be properly buckled in age-appropriate safety seats in the back seat of the car. Other risk factors include speed, alcohol, and nonuse of helmets. More recently, driver distraction, particularly cell phone use, has become an emerging concern.
