Answer to Question 1

A
The best legal description of the nurse is one who has graduated from an accredited nursing education program and has passed the NCLEX exam. Persons certified to administer medications may be certified medication technicians and not necessarily nurses. Additionally, nurses can practice in a vast array of areas, not exclusively in an acute care setting or in home care. Practicing under the direct supervision of a physician is descriptive of a physician's assistant.

Answer to Question 2

B
Critical thinking and the Nursing Process are ways of thinking that can be used in problem-solving (although critical thinking can be used for other than problem-solving applications). Neither method of thinking is linear. The Nursing Process has specific steps; critical thinking does not.

This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
