A patient who has been on a medication that caused diarrhea is now off the medication. What could the nurse suggest to promote the return of normal flora?
 
  A) stool-softening laxatives, such as Colace
  B) increasing fluid intake to 3,000 mL/day
  C) drinking fluids with a high sugar content
  D) eating fermented products, such as yogurt
