If the patient has damage to the speech centers of the brain, special communication methods are used. The nurse uses simple phrases and questions and speaks clearly without shouting. If the patient has expressive aphasia, asking questions that can be answered with yes or no and using a communication board with pictures may be beneficial. Do not rush the patient and be patient.
