ANS: D
Pressure should be applied to a venipuncture site for 10 minutes, and to an arterial site for 30 minutes, following thrombolytic therapy. This is necessary to achieve adequate hemostasis after a thrombolytic drug has been used.

A common adverse effect of sclerosing drugs such as ethanolamine is burning or cramping at the varicosity injection site.
