Panic disorders develop over a short period of time such as 10 minutes. Generalized anxiety dis-order is when a person experiences excessive anxiety almost daily for more than 6 months. Post-traumatic stress disorder is caused by exposure to death or near-death experiences.

Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine. Suddenly stopping drugs from this class can cause a potentially life-threatening reaction of withdrawal symptoms. This drug needs to be tapered slowly by gradually reducing the dosage before it can be safely stopped.
