Answer to Question 1

A
Taking St. John's wort at the same time as quinidine can cause decreased serum levels of the drug and decrease the intended effects of the drug. Teach patients to avoid this combination.

Answer to Question 2

D
An infected infusion site is an indication to immediately discontinue the IV therapy. An order is not needed under these circumstances, but the prescriber should be notified.
