Concurrent use of benzodiazepines and morphine sulfate puts the patient at risk for respiratory depression, and the patient's respirations currently are just at the low end of normal at 12/minute.
The patient's blood pressure is high but not considered hypertensive, therefore antihypertensives would not be indicated at this time. Her blood pressure may be elevated secondary to her pain. If applicable, giving antihypertensives and morphine sulfate would not be contraindicated.
Antihistamines, if needed, would not be contraindicated in a patient who also is receiving mor-phine sulfate.
An antidiabetic agent would have no drug-to-drug interaction with morphine sulfate.
