Answer to Question 1

D
A beta2 antagonist would be appropriate for a patient with a sustained heart rate, because these drugs increase cardiac output, decrease the workload of the heart, and decrease the heart rate.
A beta2 agonist is not indicated for preterm labor. An antagonist would relax the uterus, possibly resulting in delivery of a preterm infant.
A beta2 antagonist produces inhibition of glycogenolysis, therefore it would not be indicated in a patient with a low serum glucose.
A beta2 antagonist is not indicated for a patient with an exacerbation of asthma.
