Answer to Question 1

B
PCNs weaken the cell wall, causing bacteria to take up excessive amounts of water and subse-quently rupture. PCNs inhibit transpeptidases and disinhibit autolysins. PCNs do not affect the cell walls of the host.

Answer to Question 2

B
Patients older than 65 years should start with a low dose of 25 mg and may take the drug 1 hour before anticipated sexual activity. Sildenafil is taken when needed and not on a routine basis. Dosing at 25 to 100 mg per dose 30 minutes to 4 hours before sexual activity is the standard recommendation for men younger than 65 years. Two tablets is a high dose; consumption of a high-fat meal would interfere with absorption of sildenafil.

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
