Answer to Question 1

A
The patient is showing signs of prolactin hypersecretion. Cabergoline is a dopamine agonist and is used to inhibit prolactin release. Conivaptan is used to treat hypernatremia. Dopamine is not given. Prolactin would make the condition worse.

Answer to Question 2

C
Polyethylene glycol (PEG) plus electrolytes (ELS) is one of two bowel cleansers used before colonoscopy to clear the bowel. PEG-ELS products are preferred, because unlike sodium phos-phate, they are isotonic and do not increase the likelihood of dehydration and electrolyte imbal-ance. Glycerin suppositories and magnesium hydroxide are not used for bowel cleansing.
