Answer to Question 1

D
School-aged children born to patients who use marijuana may show deficits in memory, atten-tiveness, and problem solving. Chronic marijuana use alters brain size in individuals who use marijuana but not in children born to parents who use marijuana. Newborns will not show with-drawal symptoms. Preschool-aged children have difficulty with memory and sustained attention.

Answer to Question 2

A
Women with a deficiency of the CYP2D6 gene lack the ability to convert tamoxifen to its active form, endoxifen, and will not benefit from this drug. Another drug should be used to treat this patient's breast cancer. Increasing the dose, reducing the dose, or monitoring serum drug levels will not make this drug more effective in these women.
