Phenylephrine's duration of action is 15 to 20 minutes. Ephedrine's duration of action will depend on how the drug is administered as it could be given intramuscularly, subcutaneously, IV, or orally, but no matter by what route it is administered, the duration of action is longer than 1 to 2 minutes.
