Answer to Question 1

C
Feedback:
Abrupt cessation of these drugs may lead to a withdrawal syndrome characterized by nausea, headache, vertigo, malaise, and nightmares. When benzodiazepines are stopped abruptly the likelihood of withdrawal symptoms increases with the length of time the patient took the medication. Urinary retention, change in sexual functioning, dry mouth, constipation, nausea, and vomiting are all common adverse effects of the medications classified as benzodiazepines.

Answer to Question 2

Ribavirin is used in combination with interferon alfa-2b as an oral drug for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C in children and adults who relapse after inferferon alfa therapy. Cidofovir is used to treat cytomegalovirus (CMV) in AIDS patients. Virazole is used to treat uncomplicated infuenza infections. Acyclovir is used for herpes infections.
