Succimer (Chemet) chelates lead to form water-soluble complexes that are excreted in the urine. Succimer is used to treat lead poisoning in children. Folic acid is not used to treat lead poisoning. Deferoxamine is not used to treat lead poisoning. Deferasirox is not used to treat lead poisoning.
