Answer to Question 1

B
Feedback:
As RBCs decrease, conditions related to inadequate hematopoiesis develop. Clinical manifestations of inadequate erythropoiesis include anemia. This results in a decrease in the oxygen-carrying capacity of blood and consequently a decreased oxygen availability to the tissues. A compensatory increase in heart rate and cardiac output initially increases cardiac output, offsetting the lower oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood.

Answer to Question 2

B
Feedback:
Except for sustained release forms, nifedipine reaches peak plasma levels within 1 to 2 hours.
