There is a black box warning regarding the use of Depo Provera and Depo-SubQ Provera that relates to its being associated with the loss of stored calcium from bones, which increases the risk of broken bones and osteoporosis, especially after menopause. There is a greater risk of bone loss with long-term use. Consequently, bone density testing may be warranted. There is no particular indication for this patient to undergo stress testing, renal ultrasound, or triglyceride testing.
