Answer to Question 1

B
B. Dysrhythmias could indicate systemic effects of nebulized medication and would require discontinuing the treatment.
A. Coughing would be assessed and recorded but would not necessarily require discontinuing the treatment.
C. Inability to self-administer might require changing the method of administration but would not require stopping treatment.
D. Frequency of nebulizer treatments would be determined by the provider's order.

Answer to Question 2

D
Buccal medication is placed between the upper or lower molar teeth and the cheek area and is allowed to dissolve. The sublingual route is used to administer medication under the tongue. Medication is dissolved rather than swallowed using the buccal route.
